James and his team did a terrific job building our boat house. Their price was fair, but more importantly, the construction was of very high quality. There have also been great to provide service after the sale for various items, and James has been very responsive. I recommend them to build a high quality boathouse.

I was very satisfied with the work James did and would recommend him to others (and indeed will likely use him again on another boat dock modification I am planning). His promptness and professionalism were much appreciated (especially in contrast to the previous contractor who abandoned the job after pile driving some posts and who shall remain nameless here because I wouldn't be surprised if he did something crazy in response to a negative review).

I hired James to add a covered double jet ski lift to my existing boat dock. He responded to my call promptly and gave me a reasonable quote shortly thereafter. He started the work soon after I signed the contract and paid half the contract amount. He went as far as he could but was held up by a delay in the arrival of the lifts parts. This resulted in a week-or-so delay, but it wasn't a problem. James' guys went the extra mile and even fixed a broken picnic table bench for me at no charge. They scheduled around holiday time and around my family's use of the dock during the project. They cleaned up the work area nicely after the project was done. A few of my neighbors were impressed enough with James' crew to hire them on some small dock projects also. I recommend (and for the record, this review was unsolicited).

James Stetler with LakeFront Builders just completed building our beautiful new 30' x 40's two-stall boathouse on time and on budget. My wife and I could not be happier with the final product. We give 5-stars for excellent communication throughout the process, overall craftsmanship, attention to detail, quality and value, creativity and overall performance.
We live in Houston, roughly an hour and 45 minutes from our boathouse. Since we haven't built our lake house yet and I had a business to run, I probably only made 4 progress-review trips to the job site during the 45-day project, relying on regular phone, email and text communication with James throughout the process. James did not let me down. He kept me regularly informed, called me when he had questions, stayed true to the course following my specifications, etc. From the very start I felt a strong sense of trust in James building me a great boathouse and he did. There are bigger, more established companies building boathouses on Lake Livingston. After getting estimates from all three, I opted to award my project to LakeFront Builders based on a combination of budget and the level of communication I had with James between the date of my request for proposal and the day I awarded the project.
James used quality materials and took no short-cuts along the way. He caught several small oversights in my specs that he felt should be modified or improved, contacted me right away with his recommendations, all of which I agreed to.
As the son of a general contractor I know how important it is to have a good working relationship between builder and customer. James didn't just talk to the talk up until he got the job, but he talked the talk and walked the walk until the project was completed. Overall, we can't imagine an easier building experience or a better final project. We're not only proud of our boathouse, but excited to have finally experienced working with a builder with zero issues for the first time in our life.

I contracted with Lakefront Builders to construct a 5'x80' pier and a 42'x32' boathouse. The owner/operator James Stetler was very easy to work with. His quote and completed price was very competitive and better than other Lake Livingston area builders. We made some changes during construction and James was quick to provide a quote and incorporate the additional construction. James was equally helpful with any issues we felt needed to be addressed during construction and has returned post completion to adjust any concerns we had. I would and have reccomended Lakefront Builders to other folks. That being said anyone having something constructed in/on Lake Livingston should remember the lake is man made and the bottom has numerous obstacles like giant tree stumps that will effect placement and subsequent allignment of support piers...nice job James and thank you.

My son in law contracted with James Lakefront Builders for a boathouse. It came out amazing we got everything we wanted and more. James was very easy to work with as we made some changes along the way. I would highly recommend Lakefront Builders for a boathouse. The only con with this project is it did take longer than we expected but weather played a part in that. We did have it built during the winter months so it wasn’t a big deal. James and crew were all awesome to work with and talk to.

Extremely satisfied with James and his crew! 2000 sf home is exactly what we wanted. They worked with us on changes, upgrades etc. They made numerous suggestions along the way which we incorporated into the build. Always on time and did exactly what was agreed upon plus more. Would highly recommend them for any project. Home was erected in 19 days. Rock solid construction from a great bunch of guys. We love it !

I called James last June to do my bulkhead and boat slip. I had to call him several times to get a quote. Their website states they do all over Houston - we are near Lake Houston. I finally got a quote and asked him when he could do the work. He said he would get back with me as they were too busy. I had to call again several times. Finally got him to answer and we agreed that I would wait until December when they were not so busy. December came and went. I called several more times and finally got a hold of him last week. After waiting 7 months, he tells me he can't do it now! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Beware with guy!!! Did a terrible job on my dock!! Dock is not leveled and have tried to call him many times to come fix it!! Don’t trust James!! He says his work has a year warranty but won’t come and fix his mistakes!!! This guy is a JOKE!!!
