My Buyers purchased this home sight unseen and they asked tons of questions throughout the entire process and Silas was very patient and understanding. He responded to questions and concerns in a timely manner and Mason the construction manager was super nice, knowledgeable, and was always on time for our walkthroughs. The home is beautiful!

Very disappointing experience and unfortunately would NOT recommend Legacy Homes. We signed the contract in February 2020 and it was December 2020 before we were able to close on the house. On top of the long wait, Legacy Homes charged $600 in delay costs because I had concerns with the preferred lender double charging for homeowners insurance on the Closing Disclosure document.

We also selected the worst possible mortgage lender, Progress Bank. Progress Bank is one of Legacy Homes preferred lenders. Selecting Progress Bank was our second mistake. My experience with this lender was absolutely horrible. I pre-paid the homeowners insurance directly to the insurance company. The insurance agent sent Progress Bank a copy of the policy and an email confirming payment of the insurance. Yet, this amount was still factored into the Closing Disclosure document. Consequently, I was double charged for the homeowner insurance amount. Once directly to the insurance company and the second time factored into the Closing Disclosure document by Progress Bank.

Legacy Homes charges $150 per day for delays in closing, which they charged because I had concerns with the Closing Disclosure document provided by their preferred lender being incorrect. Legacy Home reminded me they have a clause in their contract that states “The purchaser will be charged $150 per day for delays in closing.” Legacy Homes charged me a DELAY FEE of $600, while I attempted to resolve the error on the Closing Disclosure document. Legacy Homes did not care about my concerns the Closing Disclosure document was incorrect and was overstated. This is evident by them charging me a delay fee, while I attempted to resolve this issue with their preferred lender – Progress Bank.

We had not even moved into the house and there were several very noticeable cracks in the crown molding in several areas. The crown molding was poorly installed and we paid extra for this option. Yet, Legacy Homes has not fixed this issue, but they did mandate we pay the $600 in delay costs before we were allowed to close on the house. I will post the pictures in a separate post.

There are several home builders in the area. I would highly recommend selecting one OTHER than Legacy Homes. They charged me $600 in delay fees while I tried to coordinate with their preferred lender about the incorrect Closing Disclosure document and being double charged for homeowners insurance. Beware, if you have any issues with the Closing Disclosure document that will be provided by the lender three days prior to closing, Legacy Homes will charge you $150 per day in delay fees if you request the document be corrected.

Bottom Line, first mistake was selecting Legacy Homes. Second mistake was selecting Progress Bank

The community and location here is phenomenal. Everyone has been so kind and responsive. Jesus, the contractor who finished off our home, is beyond incredible. He is so kind and willing to listen and help. Dave, the community manager for Legacy, was responsive and always relayed our questions and concerns on to get us answers or the problem fixed. During the building process, there were some set backs. However, every time we voiced our concerns the problem was addressed. I would definitely buy from Legacy again if we decided to move.

After comparing the various builders in the area, Legacy had BY FAR the best quality homes with the most efficient design and use of space! David, from Bellview, was such a great help as we toured the different models available and discussed our future plans. We have no regrets with our new home 🙂

Austin one of the builders managers was very unprofessional. During a walk through every concern brought to his attention he constantly would make excuses and tell me it was no big deal. As if my concerns were not being addressed. He even went to the extent to tell me that a concern that was not completely fixed was no big deal. And that he would not fix and that technically the house didn’t belong to me. And I was only an hour away from closing. And that I didn’t have to purchase the home. He was very unprofessional during both walk through and I would never want a customer to go through this.

Spoke with Silas and now in process of building our future home. He did not make us feel rushed. He is very available to answer our occasional questions. So far the process has been great. Many options to choose from to make it our own. Since we are new to the area, he made great suggestions for restaurants and other area attractions. Thanks for the great attention and information.
