I am compelled to share my disappointing experience with Marin Automotive due to the service I received for my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Initially, I approached the shop for what I believed was a straightforward radiator replacement, which was quoted at $900-$1,000. However, the experience that followed was far from straightforward.

Service Miscommunication: I was verbally assured the radiator would be replaced, but instead, the service escalated into additional, unnecessary checks without my consent, leading to a dramatically increased bill.

Quality and Safety Issues: My vehicle was left in a partially disassembled state overnight, causing a significant oil and radiator fluid leak that necessitated emergency street repairs. This not only posed a safety risk but also indicated a severe lack of professional care.

Misleading Practices: When I expressed concern over the escalating situation, I was told the radiator would be replaced for free, only to find out later that the old radiator was simply reinstalled, which was not disclosed initially. This was extremely misleading.

Resulting Costs: Due to the poor quality of work, I had to tow my vehicle to another shop where I faced an unexpected bill of $3,500 to repair the damages caused by Marin Automotive's service.

Customer Service: The communication was poor, with significant deviations from what was agreed upon, and the service was far from satisfactory. The lack of transparency and the approach to problem-solving felt more like a shakedown than professional automotive repair.

Conclusion: I strongly advise potential customers to seek service elsewhere to avoid similar mishaps. This experience has left me with not just a financial burden but also a significant trust issue with Marin Automotive.

I’ve been extremely happy every time I have gone to Marin Automotive. It is really easy to schedule with them, today I even got in same day. Work was done really quickly, and I was on my way with my car all set. I definitely recommend them!

Price gouging!!! Quoted $2k for front brake pads, rotors, calipers, & hoses. Ross valley auto repair quoted $1k for the same work. This quotation is beyond unbelievable. Parts are $500 paying for the most expensive options total. So quoting $1500 for labor on a job that’s 2-3hrs tops is ridiculous. Never bring your vehicle to Marin Automotive if you want a fair price for work performed.

To top it off on pickup of my vehicle it was left in the parking lot across the street unsecured with the windows down, empty drink bottle in the center console & all my radio station la were reprogrammed to spanish stations

They really take care of you here. We needed to get a van ready for sale last minute and found the battery was shot. They replaced on warranty within an hour, even during a busy afternoon. Super accommodating and great folks.

Had a poor experience with this particular shop. Went in for a smog check and an inspection of the vehicle as a diagnosis for a noise I was experiencing. They were polite and did decent work to investigate my noise issue. They had not completed the smog check despite that being half of the reason for the visit. After having the car for 6 hours they wanted 30 more minutes to finish. Not a terrible mistake but just kind of annoying after taking time to do a bunch of courtesy checks.

Oil change is 150$ for synthetic high mileage. Probably a good price for the area.
