We had a single 4' by 4' window on our west-facing kitchen and were weary of how dark that part of the house was--so decided to put as much window as we could in on that wall (limited by extensive electric wiring on the north end). Twenty years ago I'd have done it myself, but at this point we looked for a contractor, and Mike was uniformly and strongly recommended by several neighbors with direct experience. I confess his estimate seemed a bit high, but if the old adage "you get what you pay for" has ever been proven true, Mike's team proved it. Despite wrestling with post-Covid supply issues to obtain the lovely Pella windows and having a cabinet sub-contractor who fell far short of expectations, Mike (and Nicole) kept the project on track with virtually no interruption in our use of the kitchen and we are absolutely delighted with the results--now, months later, we still can hardly wait to raise the blinds at dawn and celebrate our new-found view!

And his workers were spectacular--they were meticulous, steady, cheerful, and highly professional and almost ridiculously neat and respectful of our home. I told my wife that they should be working in a NASA clean room assembling satellites or something, not doing construction. The couple speed bumps that emerged were swiftly passed over, and the the odd minor change in plans taken in stride. Mike was always available and often on-site, with unfailing amiable, get-'er-done cheerfulness.

The whole project--removing overhead cabinets, recycling four of the doors to a new, full height pantry for visual continuity; adding overhead lighting and reconstructing the soffit; adding custom-designed pantry with microwave oven nook and sliding shelves (by which we had at least as much total cabinet space as the overhead cabinets gave us); and yes, the lovely windows (which proved remarkable in their thermal performance, winter and summer) combined to turn a dark, unhappy and seldom used stretch of counterspace into one of our favorite places to be--not just for cooking and cleanup, but for sightseeing! So well done to Mike and crew--you simply cannot go wrong bringing them aboard!

Mike Furr and his crew did an amazing job remodeling our bathroom. High quality work, efficient and very prompt. He is detail oriented, and has his work done as if he were doing it in his own home. Mike is very responsive to calls and requests, always returning calls the very same day and if he needed to come out to check on anything we had questions about or needed any detail clarified. His staff, particularly Gary is amazing, he is friendly, responsible, and respectful. Mike and his crew were very responsible working during this pandemic, always arrived with their masks on, and honoring the "physical distancing" parameters which were greatly appreciated. His quote to do the work was very fair and he even took into consideration the fact that we were under a tight time frame in getting my 94 year old mom moved in. He went above and beyond and then some! I would highly recommend Mike to anyone looking for any type of construction or remodeling. I can't say enough about my satisfaction with his work, if you are looking for a contractor, Mike Furr Construction should be your only choice!! Thanks Mike! Ray, Hiram, and Liz did excellent work and were friendly, respectful, fun, and communicative. They completed the project within the expected budget (aside from changes that were my decision), and checked in regularly to make sure I was informed and comfortable with everything.
