Just paid my bill, gladly. Worked with Jordan and he was fantastic. Estimated my needs and made sure everything was right when there were some issues at the end. It's easy to be happy with a company when there are no issues, but a great company works through any troubles and creates a happy and loyal customer. (BTW: Job was sewer line replacement and basement bath rough in)

Tom and Rudy are exceptional. Professional, courteous and pleasant. They did an outstanding job installing our new furnace/air conditioner. They went above & beyond to make sure we understood our system. Rudy helped me deal with fixing the storm door that had come loose. We Appreciate each of them & differently recommend them. Thank you!

**Please Read: You could pay fines/fees for their negligence**

I recently called MPHC out to check a sewer backup in my basement. The first guy came out on a Sunday and was unable to get it opened up. The next day, two guys came out and used a camera to determine that the line was broken. Their salesman, Ryan W., quoted us $7,400 to complete a spot repair. After excavating the spot, they still weren't able to open up the line. Ryan then said I would have to pay an *additional* $5,300 to replace a 10ft section. I decided to get more estimates and he agreed. Rather than putting a temporary patch that is within code, they left an open hole with a disconnected line for sewage to drain into.
After getting some estimates, I realized that the price MPHC quoted me was not competitive. I contacted Ryan W. to see if we could negotiate the overall price of the job. Not only was he utterly unwilling to negotiate, he became very angry and defensive over the phone. He seemed offended that I was even trying to negotiate. He claimed he spoke to his supervisor, who told him that they would not negotiate. I agreed to complete the spot repair and nothing more.
Ryan said they would come out later that day and finish the job. It occured to me to make sure they pulled a permit before the work was completed. I called MPHC to get a copy of it and was told they had it but they couldn't send it to me right away. Suspicious, I called Johnson County Wastewater (JCW) to check and was informed that no permit had been issued for my address. There wasn't even an application pending. The excavation began on 12/24, but it was now 12/30. Six days later!
Twenty min. later, MPHC called back and said they wouldn’t be able to complete the job until 8am the next morning. Kevin from JCW ended up coming out to inspect the hole and informed us that there were 2 violations from them digging the hole with no permit and leaving a hole open for sewage to fill into which the homeowner would end up liable to pay if fined. I told him that MPHC planned on coming the next morning to finish the job and back fill the hole. He told me they were not allowed to close the hole without the work being inspected first and approved by JCW. The next day they came back and completed the job.
I then got an email a few days later from Laura C. at MPHC saying they didn’t have a permit because OPKS doesn't require one for a spot repair. Two problems with this: 1. I live in Merriam, not OP, and 2. The sewer line repair permit is required by the COUNTY, not the city.
For $7,400, I expect a reputable company to complete the job correctly and with the proper permits. I also don't appreciate being misled by employees who should know better. Needless to say, I won't be using MPHC ever again.

I'm not sure what is going on with this company but today's pricing ended my long standing loyalty. I had a faucet issue and they were prompt, knowledge and very experienced. However, a 40 min repair was over $500! This is without replacing any parts. Previously, I had a new shower valve installed this took 2 hours and was about the same price. They sent 2 people WHICH I DO NOT LIKE. However they were very polite and helpful. My theory is the more people a company sends, the higher the bill. I feel taken advantage of and will not be referring them or using them again. When you take a faucet handle apart and diagnose it, it's like a $250 to $300 repair. Plain and simple overcharging is simply unacceptable.

I am a transplant to Kansas City. Finding tradesmen that you can trust is hard if you don’t know neighbors to ask. Mission Plumbing has been exceptional every time I have called for help. They aren’t looking to get a quick buck, they are truly there to help. Each technician I have worked with took time to explain what was going on and my options to fix the issue. I will only use Mission Plumbing for any of my plumbing needs!

We used Mission for the first six or seven years we lived in this house. In 2020, we had them replace our full system, new A/C and furnace. We spent a lot of money with Mission and were always happy with the work.

Last year, our Nest had an error saying it didn’t have enough power and would need a common wire. I called Mission and asked if this was something they’d do or if I should call an electrician. The receptionist said she’d check and came back and said it was likely something they’d do but the person who came could confirm that. I said I didn’t want to pay a nearly $100 service charge just to find out they might not do it and she assured me that if that was the case, the technicians normally waive that fee. I said “normally” wasn’t good enough, I’d need to know it’d be waived and she agreed it would be.

They come out and look at the wiring and the tech says that it’s not something he could do today and that of the three or four possible fixes, all but one might not actually fix the problem. He said borrowing the wire from the fan might work but if the unit called for the fan, it’d short the system. I asked if this system would do that and he said he didn’t know. I showed him the manual for the unit that Mission left when they installed it and asked if he could check. He said he wouldn’t know how to find that. He said the only guaranteed fix would be to run a common wire. I asked if he would do that and he said he couldn’t, he recommended that I ask any of my “friends who are electricians.”

I told him that if he wasn’t willing to do it, then I’d call an electrician. He then presented me with a service charge. I told him that I specifically had this conversation with the receptionist and she said I wouldn’t be charged if he wasn’t able to do any work. He insisted that I pay anyway and said that him coming out was the work. I told him that because I specifically asked about this and was told there wouldn’t be a charge if this exact thing happened, I’d like him to send the bill by email so I could discuss it with a manager. He scoffed, “Oh I see, I’ve dealt with people like you.” I asked what kind of people that would be since we’ve been customers for years and spent more than $10,000 with Mission, so it wasn’t as if we weren’t willing to pay Mission for their work. He made another rude remark and I told him to get the **** out of my house.

Given his incompetence, unprofessionalism, and refusal to honor what I was told on the phone, I was sure a manager would contact me, a longtime customer who had used them for a lot of jobs and had nothing but good experiences. No call ever came. Just an invoice with a note that I am a customer they no longer want to have. That was fine, as this was clearly a company I no longer wanted to give my business to.

I called an electrician and had a common wire run from the thermostat to the unit. Then I called another HVAC company a few days later and they sent out a tech who took one look at the unit and pointed out that it already had the necessary wiring and that any tech should have seen that immediately and it would’ve taken a few minutes of work, I didn’t even need the extra common wire run to the unit. He fixed everything in less than 30 minutes and for less money than Mission’s service charge.

Ann provided horrible service. I asked to speak to a manager regarding a very large job I have that I was interested in speaking with them about. However upon asking to speak with a manager she informed me they will tell me the exact same thing as she did and that they do not give pricing over the phone. Which wasn’t what I was asking for. I simply wanted to speak with a manager that I could ask so more in depth details regarding the jobs I need assistance with. However, Ann instead told me that they are not available and the proceeded to tell me to have a good day and then hung up on me. Due to the fact that I insisted to speak with a member of management. I called back and asked if she hung up or we got disconnected and she said hung up because there is nothing a manager will say different than her. Unbelievable, I don’t know how this company has a rating with staff like this. Horrible first impression and if that is truly how this company does business then I don’t know how they are in business.

Ryan Butler of Mission Heating and Plumbing came over and fixed our faucets promptly and courteously. He was very knowledgeable prompt and helped me understand the issues and explained well. He also offered a couple of suggestions for future reference that will be helpful. Thank you Ryan Butler and Mission Plumbing!
