Probably one of the most influential recording studios for Motown, and Southern Rock. It’s like walking into a time capsule straight into the 1970’s. The decor is all there, even the heavy glass ashtrays… Honored to see and touch the piano that is on nearly every Bob Seger tune, including the iconic intro to Old Time Rock and Roll and countless other albums over the years. To see the Swampers’ actual gear on display, and be in the room where hundreds of hit songs were recorded was a very inspiring experience…

Incredible. So much fun for anyone who loves music from the 60s and 70s. The tour is filled with information about the studio's history and all the wonderful artists who played there. One of the brightest memories from our recent trip down the Natchez Trace Parkway. Highly highly recommend!!!

Do not let appearance’s fool you!
As you drive down Jackson Highway the studio appears on the side of the road, nothing to look at really and a bland gravel parking lot!
Even when you go through the entrance door to be greeted by Terrel (sorry if mis-spelt) it really is quite uninspiring, we paid our tour fee, $20 plus tax each and got chatting to him, slowly others arrived, and more, and more still!
So our 1030am tour eventually had about 15 people in attendance. We were lead outside to start the tour from the parking lot and wow, what a comprehensive tour it was too!
I won’t give too much away as not to spoil it if you decide to go, but the content, the history, the stories were amazing. As like most no videos or flash photography but non flash photography was strongly encouraged!
My advice would be to do this jointly with Fame Studios as they really complement each other and try to watch the Muscle Shoals Story on YouTube prior to or after your visit as it really will help make sense of all you see and hear about!
So to sum up if you’re in town give these guys a visit it is so worth the effort, thanks guys

This working studio has been meticulously restored to its 1970s charm. The guided tours are conducted in small groups and the guides are very knowledgeable about the people, events and music that make this place so special. Definitely worth checking out!
