Had a fantastic time at the NHRL facility. Got a little warm inside in the afternoon with all the people and heat outside but was manageable with the supplied water and fans. The food trucks were a bit expensive but served their purpose. Would have loved to see combat robot parts and supplies vendors at the event but it’s not really about that. There was plenty of things to keep the fidgeting kids busy with ski ball, grabber, and the build your own robot area all free of charge. The fights were amazing… even better than expected and we had been watching the YouTube channel for a while. Plenty of swag to purchase for memorabilia and lots of combat robots from the show on display for photos and perspective. We will definitely be going again but hopefully with a 3lb robot to compete with next time.

NHRL did not hold back with this facility. Events maximize the use of the space and are family-friendly. There are plenty of cages for a variety of battles, bots, and showcases. Bleacher seating for viewers and a visually clean shoutcaster set up. Loved the little museum on-site as well, displaying icons from the battle bots scene. And I couldn't not mention the free claw machine to test your luck!

Bathrooms were supplied with sanitary items and kept clean throughout the day. Outdoor space hosted food trucks and had heaters - ideal for a chilly winter day.

During events, there is clear signage for parking, bathrooms and special guest spaces. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

Super fun robot πŸ€– battle competition arena and bot museum. Bought the VIP tickets and were treated to comfy couches, snacks, soft drinks and front row seating at cage 1 and 4, plus a tour of the facilities. Loved the free kid games and cotton candy, face painting and food trucks. Fun crowd and now my daughter is interested in building bots πŸ€–

I've been watching NHRL's online streams since March 2022, and they're a ton of fun and really well done, but there's nothing like taking a trip to Norwalk and seeing the action in person. I've attended three in-person events (Sept & Nov 2022, Jan 2023) and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. This is not your local battlebot competition. This is a full blown real event with an extensive video and production crew, knowledgable announcers, over 100 talented competitors, amazing branding and signage, etc. The tickets are priced really well, the location is great, and the venue is big with a lot of fun things to do. There's a bot museum, a gift shop, an outdoor seating area (open all year long) with food trucks and drinks (including alcohol), and some other fun activities for kids like a free claw machine and an area to create your own posters. The competition itself is run really well. You can get cozy on the bleachers in front of one of the cages, or run back and forth between all 6 cages to make sure you see all the action. In 2023, they recently switched from double elimination to single elimination, which means the event ends much sooner. (It's a welcome change to the schedule, in my opinion. Getting there at 10AM and staying until past midnight is too long of a day. The most recent event ended at 9. Much more reasonable.) Overall, it's a super fun event with a really great community. I've seen how the competitors talk to each other before and after their battles. Everyone seems to be friendly and have great sportsmanship, which is so important, especially when the competitors are of all different ages. I'll certainly be going back to attend as many events as I can!
