We worked with Open Door Furniture to create two large conference tables for a new Class A building that we developed in the bay area. We had some unique large slabs that we had purchased and wanted to make sure we worked with a team who would do excellent work. Open Door Furniture created a beautiful product for us. They were very organized. They set up conference calls to make sure all planning and logistics was taken care of, created CAD drawings of everything, provided unsolicited email and progress photo updates and delivered on time.

The delivery was not without its challenges. The delivery company damaged the tables. Open Door Furniture flew out 3 times over the next 3 weeks to immediately repair the damage that the delivery company had caused. The end results were BEAUTIFUL. We were very happy with their work and we have continued to work with them on other projects!!

I contacted Andrew a few months ago with an unusual project; I had collected over 400 wine corks that I wanted to incorporate into a wood coffee table. The project was such a challenge, in fact, that two other woodworkers had previously turned me down! In refreshing contrast, however, Andrew immediately jumped at the opportunity with enthusiasm and professionalism. After our first phone consult, I was struck by his warmth, passion and commitment to the job, which shone through from start to finish. Throughout the process, he sent me regular email and photo updates, requesting my input on every detail to ensure it was my dream table, while also offering his advice when I was indecisive. Come delivery day, I wasn't just pleased with the final product, but blown away by the exquisite detail and care his team put into my project. Though it appeared a masterpiece to me, Andrew–the perfectionist he is–was bothered by a couple minor imperfections, and therefore insisted on returning at a later date to make his work of art even more beautiful. In summary, I not only highly recommend Open Door if you want a piece of custom furniture that you will cherish for life, but I will also most certainly be returning to Andrew again for my next project.

So grateful for my experience with Open Door Furniture, specifically with the owner Andrew and his colleague Blake. This was my first time purchasing a custom piece of furniture so I did my due diligence about carpenters in the SD area. After chatting with a dozen or so of them via email and phone, I went with Andrew because of his clear passion for his work, positive attitude, responsiveness, attention to detail, and ability to morph my original idea into something utterly gorgeous and unexpected. What started out as a request for a more standard walnut dresser morphed into the bacote beauty that you see in the attached picture.
