Our deck replacement was a good size job and it was on the second story of the house. It took three guys 10 days for the tear down and complete replacement. The original crew that did most the work was punctual and worked very hard. However, they didn't pay much attention to detail. As a result the aesthetics suffered. One example is that bolts were left too long. Going forward there should a specification with regard to the bolt length and consistency with regard to adhering to it. Also, the staircase support studs were offset instead of being straight which made the cross brace crooked. There was also a handrail that wasn't screwed down flush all the way. Screws were also left in the grass near the deck which could have been a real problem when I ran the mower. So, in general, job clean up needs to be more of a priority for the team. On the more positive side the deck seems to be structurally very good and the staircase width is much better than the original one that they replaced.

On another positive note, there was a safety net in place with regard to cleaning up the aesthetic issues described above. His name is Tim and he's the star of the team as far as we're concerned. Tim along with Junior came down and fixed all the problems left behind by the original work crew. My suggestion is that if you select P & G get a commitment from Rob that Tim will inspect the job and make it right for you. He is a very hard working, humble young man and a pleasure to work with.

The reason that we couldn't give this job a 4 star rating is that their lumber supplier, Southern Pine supplied Grade 3 lumber. Tim assured me that they were paying for Grade 1 lumber and we believe him. On many of the deck boards there were knots and rough, unsightly areas. I would recommend that any customer insist that the lumber be inspected by the team prior to being delivered. Once it's delivered they have no recourse, but to install it. Even better would be for you to personally go to Southern Pine and inspect it yourself. Tim, replaced about 10 of the boards, but we still have a couple that slipped through the cracks.

Overall, we think P & G is a good company especially if you consider that there are many bad companies in the marine deck industry. We would recommend them with aforementioned caveats.

My wife and I have had many personal construction projects through the years and this deck project with P&G Construction was the most enjoyable from start to finish. Our initial meeting with P&G was great because they guided us toward what we wanted and provided an excellent creative solution to a combination planter and bench. Through the whole construction process, we had daily conversation with the crew. They asked if everything looked good and if there were any changes we wanted. This was refreshing.
We were very pleased with the completed woodwork finishes. It really made the deck much more than a deck. The deck is not just an addition to our house but an extension to our home. We give P&G our highest recommendation for their custom deck woodwork and construction.

Rob and his team did an outstanding job building our new boathouse in deep water on the intracoastal waterway.
This is the third project we've used P&G Construction.
In 2016, they built a 150' commercial grade vinyl sea wall for us that saved us from hurricane Matthew. In late 2017, they rebuild a1,500 sf deck over the water after Hurricane Irma destroyed our old one. Finally, in August 2018, they just finished our 45' Boathouse/dock and pier.
They are highly reliable and stand behind their products. Excellent workmanship and the team is pleasure to work with.

Should be zero stars since I never really got to deal with them. Did not return calls or emails. Finally after one of my friends who had used them asked the owner to call me I got a text. Scheduled two appointments they never showed. Afraid to use them if this is how they treat potential customers.

Quality of dock project is great. Slight delays in startup due to hurricane damage to other docks, but once Rob and his team got started...they worked at it every day until the project was done! Highly recommend!
