The beef here has to be some of the best I’ve had anywhere in the country. The marbling in the meat was consistent and plentiful. It had a very rich taste and very tender. I also grabbed a link of sausage and what a difference being hand made makes. The flavor lingered long after the bite. If you want quality meats this is the place and great service.

Best place in New Haven to get local & hi-quality meats. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful too. Just the other week I went in to get a chuck roast to smoke and they butchered it right then and there for me. I also love using them to order my holiday roasts (Turkey + Prime Rib).

Provisions is my go to local butcher shop and they continue to deliver high quality customer experience and incredible products. They support small local farms with exceptional meat products with an array of local produce, seasonings and spices as well. I highly recommend the brisket, 2inch thick cut bone in ribeye, tenderloin, and ALL of their homemade sausages which are of some of the best I have had. The staff is super friendly and make you feel at home providing recommendations when needed and a smile on your way in and out. There is no other place I would rather spend my Saturday afternoons at than browsing at provisions and cooking up some delicious meals. Highly recommend!

A bit of big city best in New Haven. The store is charming; the workers are all upbeat and helpful. Zack, the artisan butcher, is supremely knowledgeable and accommodating and friendly and patient. Moreover, the quality of the meat and poultry is excellent, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable given that this is a small, independent shop. The store also has some lovely interesting products such as Rancho Gordo beans, some select cheeses, pistachio oil, and many more temptations. Parking is easy especially if you park north of the market. Provisions is a first-rate market, and I hope the extended community will support such a special place. I've only just discovered it and couldn't be more thrilled ( and no, I'm not Zack's mother).

The best butcher shop I’ve ever been in. Exotic beef cuts that no one around here sells are plentiful. Reminiscent of a European butcher shop in many ways (not just the cuts). Don’t expect Costco; but you’ll always find something truly great. Exceptionsl ground beef and sausage.

There are always new things to try and the staff are top with their insane knowledge of all things food and cooking ideas. The non-meat “provisions” are incredible too. Pantry items, sauces, bread, some random necessary vegetables, and now ice cream.

I am glad they’re successful.

Better tip the counter employees. Emily, the owner expects you to supplement her responsibility of paying living wages by asking customers to tip her COUNTER employees. Really? They are not servers. You would think with the super high prices she charges that she would pay decently. Her exact words on CNN “ that’s money that is going to come out of my pocket. Greed at its finest.
