I highly recommend watching Dopesick (Hulu) and Painkiller (Netflix) is next on my watchlist. Of all the TV shows I’ve seen in my life, this might have been the one that was hardest for me to watch. It’s so awful and sad to see those who were heavily affected and impacted by OxyContin.

I am a Nurse, unfortunately living in South FL, OXYCONTIN mega sales area of the US. Purdue Pharmaceuticals NEEDS to STOP manufacturing Oxycontin, or be forced to limit the sales & distribution to In-Patient facilities that treat LEGITIMATE pain by REAL Doctors. Example: Terminal Cancer. My Daughter has not had a life since she was barely 17 years old. Why? She was introduced to OXYCONTIN and became addicted. And not by anyone who possessed a legal prescription. Thousands of people live off of selling their OXYCONTIN Scripts. And I mean paying all of their bills - NOT having to work. Those people obtain single/multiple prescriptions from PILL MILLS here in South FL. Even off of 1 prescription, they can make in excess of $2000. a month. Because of the number of fly-by-night, bogus "Pain Clinics" in South FL that prescribe Oxycontin & Xanax like they are candy, hundreds of thousands of young people under age 24 (24 is the age in FL that you can legally be prescribed the drug) are either dead or addicted. Lives wasted, Parents whose children are dead, Children whose Parents are addicts, Unborn fetuses who are addicted and born prematurely, in hospitals for months - costing MILLIONS of $ to the Taxpayers. PURDUE Pharmaceuticals NEEDS to pay those hospital bills. WAKE UP PEOPLE OF AMERICA. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - CEO'S OF PURDUE PHARMACEUTICALS. STOP THE INSANE GREED & HAVE SOME COMPASSION FOR THE HUMAN RACE. I HAVE BEEN A HOSPICE NURSE & OXYCONTIN IS GIVEN IN EITHER CONCENTRATED DROPS OR VERY LIMITED DOSAGES-NOT AT THE AMOUNT THAT IS BEING PRESCRIBED TO PAIN-FREE INDIVIDUALS WITH NO DIAGNOSIS THAT WARRANTS THE DRUG. HAVE SOME CULPABILITY, SOME ETHICS, SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PRODUCT. BETTER YET, MOVE TO THE MIDDLE EAST & GIVE IT AWAY THERE.
