If a county or town is looking to get roads fixed using the least amount of money....this is your go-to company. I can't imagine what other reason this company would be hired for. Their work is sloppy and their workers are incompetent. A crew out of Iowa was hired to do the exact same work for the county I live in and they were excellent. The county I work in hired r.a. knapp and they are HORRIBLE. They make miles of the road 1 lane for 1 person working in 1 small area, which results in a very long wait for the pilot car. They were still making us use a pilot car at 8:30 pm but no one was working on the road. Children could run a better operation. I would give NO stars if I could. I'm completely unimpressed with this crew.

I was very disgusted with the negligence of this company in providing signs, information, and warnings for traffic on I-75 south of Macon, Ga, during nighttime construction, leaving drivers stranded in a 5-mile stretch of interstate. There were no signs warning of this work until you hit the traffic jam, which started just past the last available exit. Google projected a 30-minute travel time, which ended up being an hour and 15 minutes, primarily due to the poor communication with drivers and few to no warning signs/reflective road construction barrels until you were right there on the construction crew. This is negligence and is dangerous practice on such busy highways. There's no excuse for not having warnings posted far enough in advance for drivers to plan in advance and look for alternative routes. As far as that goes, there could have been alternate detour signs provided. It's disappointing that such a large corporation is not better prepared and hasn't anticipated the fallout from such disastrous practices. Of course, I guess you need to keep the corporate attorney busy.

I highly recommend that this company does a more thorough job monitoring its workers. Approaching the exit ramp to get home a worker almost backed the companys Dodge Ram into the front of my vehicle. I honked the horn to alert the driver. He then followed me up the exit ramp and got out of his truck when I stopped at the light to make my turn. He exited his pickup, walked up to my car and proceeded to call me an ignorant motherf**ker and a douchebag. He screamed and asked how the hell I didnt see his truck (kind of obvious with flashing lights!). I told him to calm down and that I honked to prevent him from running into my car. He continued to shout profanities and his body language was very threatening. I do not take this kind of behaviour lightly, and have reported the incident to the police. As drivers we are expected to be cautious in construction zones, but the workers should as well. He almost backed into ME, and wanted to call me names due to HIS lack of attention to traffic? This worker does not represent his company well, and needs to take a drivers course as well as anger management classes.I will be in contact with RA Knapp to get this issue looked into further, if it matters to them. This was a huge safety issue, and this guy was ready to act violently had I not let him know my intent to alert the authorities to his behavior.
