This is where our local discount store, The Dollar Tree is located. The store is usually packed and the lines are long, but it is a good spot to get basic home necessities. There is a community center next door to the store for local community, where the Boys and Girls Club and a resource library is housed, all for low income and that is really needed here. There is plenty of parking. Lock your car for sure though. There are several questionable folks who hang around outside to the side of the building.

This old area houses a $1 store that always has stuff I need for my home, batteries, party goods, kitchen stuff... Never know what you will find, but hardworking cashiers who seem to keep morale up, while serving a very low-income community. Plenty of free parking, easy to see from Sebastopol Avenue, near Dutton.

Poorly maintained and abused area. Feels like the ghetto, and I’m pretty sure the homeless don’t contribute the entire problem with litter, paraphernalia, and trouble to the area, but people who have homes and just use the area to sell drugs and/or have some ties with gangs. Other than that, still a pretty nasty area.

I live quite close to the Roseland Village shopping area and I very much appreciate that because of the weather being so hot I know I can go right up around the corner a few blocks from my house and I always get everything that I need I very much value customer service and how I am treated and the prices are always very good so I give you guys a thumbs-up

Since they shut down homeless tent town in the parking lot Roseland Village has become a little more visitable. It's still fairly ghetto as shopping centers go.
But it's got the nearest Dollar Tree store to me so ghetto or not gotta go there every so ofton. Pavement needs redoing pretty badly as well as the lot striping too. Getting in and out could be better designed also. In my opinion they should bull doze the whole thing and build a shelter for the homeless or low income housing of some kind there. The owner of the land may not be so enthusiastic about such lofty low profit ideas for it though. Lol.
I bump it up 1 star to 3 from my previous 2 star rating given during the tent town era.

We went to the Dollar Tree, the only real destination outside the teeny library and a community center for teens. I dropped my rain hat just outside the door of my car (in a handicapped space) and somebody grabbed it and took it away. Obviously dropped not abandoned, and it was just a few minutes before realizing I'd dropped it, so whoever grabbed it did so just seconds after I dropped (not abandoned) it. Not the fault of the shopping center, per se, but an indicator of the quality of the neighborhood. And of course this isn't a world shaking crisis, but I did really like that hat, amd now I have to find another, which is annoying.
Shopping at the Dollar Tree is generally a fun time, and I mostly found what I was shopping for.

Politics! This was in County. For years there was debate about annexation by the City. It's in the traditional low income, neglected Southwest quadrant of town. There was an Albertsons Market anchor, operating profitably until Lucky merger, then it closed, remained vacant. Next, the bowling alley closed, remained vacant, creating more urban blight. City would not annex unless County had Redevelopment in place. Then, Redevelopment collapsed. The annexation of a large area known as Roseland, a bustling community, was completed in 2018. It is a work in progress! Plans for a Community Village, shops, and housing exist.
Now 3/4 vacant, buildings demolished, it's home to Dollar Tree, several thriving Hispanic markets, my favorite Taqueria, and the first branch of the Library in the S/W. New homes, improved streets, City water, sewage, new Parks are all around it. A historical perspective is essential to any critical review. Stay tuned for further development.

The shopping center has corupt business practice of towing vehicles unlawfully.they dont post signs that can be consideted legal as the security gaurds posted signage for towing upside down and a sign that is only half a sign.you cannot read signs yet the security tows vehicles they choose for no good reasons and the two company also liable as the law states signs have to be posted with name and number of towing companies and adresses snd phone numbers on signs.the signs have no numbers or tow agency on them and nailed on post upside down and half a sign.this is illegal and towing company is committing theft and security is stealing card and holding cars for ransom with towing company holding cars until owners gives them money and they can even take ownership of your property without your consent.this is against your constitutional rights as americans and this dhould be illegal and these corperate theives should be jailed.also the man who owns laundrymat is so very hostile to the poor and homeless.he takes it upon himself to go around the building at night with high powered flashlite shining in peoples face and telling them they have to leave or hell csll police.he also tells security yo tow persons cars who disagree with his high handed tactics in dealing with poor.this man owns many laundrymats around roseland.he is a asian man and he also harrases people who park and shop and if park and shop at another store off plaza he will tow your car.this man should be arrested for theft of vehicles.just taking your car away from you and if you dont have yhe random money yo get car back they can take ownership.this is astounding and against the u.s constitution and your property rights.why do american citizens let these treasonous people get away with taking your vehicle proprty This man has to be stopped.
