On our way up to Yosemite today, we noticed a sign on the road, just South of Mariposa, announcing a Cider Tasting Room. I am so glad we decided to give it a go!
Nick, the Tasting Room Manager, was so helpful and knowledgable, describing the various ciders available, all made from the apples of their own orchard, right there next to the tasting room!
We ordered two flights, so were able to test 8 different varieties! So delicious. Ended up buying two different bottles to bring home!
Thanks, Nick, and congratulations to the owners of Sierra Cider for putting together such a great business! Looking forward to going back out there in May, to enjoy the blooming of the apple trees!

An absolute gem, even if you're only ambivalent on ciders normally. The combination of the farm and orchard itself (including the animals!), the frankly cute taphouse, and then regular access to events and food trucks (shot-out Yosemite Pizza!) makes Sierra an automatic consideration for any weekend. Great escape from summer heat down in the Valley, too.
Check it out, and be sure to take a stroll around the orchard itself. Take it in!

I had a great time at Sierra Cider! I booked a tour through AirBnB for 4 and we all had an amazing time. David did a great job explaining about the different types of apples he and his wife grow. He taught us about a number of things I never knew about apples and threw in some info about the history of apples in America. The end of the tour included a flight of four ciders. I thought they were all amazing, and I was impressed by the crazy ingredients he used to make some of them. I'll leave it up to you to visit to find out what he has to offer.

This place is a gem. We went during a Yosemite vacation on a day when our legs needed some rest. It was a fantastic respite. The new owners are a wonderful young couple that showed us every courtesy. The orchard is beautiful and peaceful; a great place for all ages. We liked every cider we tried more than the last. Can't wait to go back.
