Sports Basement is a retail sports shop. It’s a local Bay Area business with several locations. This one is in Novato off the Highway 101. The inventory is huge ranging from sports equipment, bicycles, clothing, shoes, sunglasses, and rental gear. Rentals include snow, surf, and camping equipment; bicycles; and sports equipment. They have a bicycle repair shop as well.

Pricing is comparable to other like sports shops. They carry quality brands and products. Staff is helpful. I’m not a local, but I do like to stop in when I can. I luv checking out the seasonal gear. I could spend hours in here.

For a $25 one time fee, folks can join the Basementeer rewards program. It offers 10% off purchases among other things.

But the restroom could do with a remodel. They are very old, dirty and worn out. Depressing. So opposite of the look and maintenance of the retail floor. The stalls have no working locks. Not sure the reasoning behind that. Plus when exiting the bathroom, please take caution and watch out for staff wheeling flatbed carts from the side storage. The aisle is narrow and is narrower when staff use it as a storage area.

Great store, big selection, nice employees. I have 6-7 foot problems plus uneven legs (5/8" lift), so needless to say I dread shoe shopping. It's hard to find anything comfortable and have to spend an extra $100 for lifts on top of the shoe price. I came here so I could try on lots of shoes without bothering anyone. To my surprise, this big box store has great shoe staff! Gerald really knows his stuff, and was helpful, kind, and patient with checking the fit on several shoes, looking for the right sizes/colors, and providing solid but never pushy or judgmental advice. So much better than most sports shoe stores! The folks at the register were nice too. Very positive experience!

Wow what a great surprise this place was. I figured it was gonna be a cheap knockoff sports store and it had a lot of great winter and outdoor stuff for really good prices. We joined. Probably save 300 bucks

I come there spent thousand at your store look me up I’m a registered member and though doing that would give me a piece of mind in your store. NOPE You guys continuously every single time I walk in look at me like he’s a thief because I have tattoos dude I spent more money on my tattoos than you make a year. No reason to judge me just cause your parents told you that guys like me or thieves, you guys should be more humble and more kind to people when Only because we are the ones that pay your check I am the one that gives your company money for clothing and such and get looked at like I’m some trash from my walk in your store. Every single time followed around by multiple employees. They have nothing else better to do and talk about me as they follow around like I’m something of a joke smirking at me when I catch watching and following me. Basically people I try to spend only about five minutes at your store yeah that big location. I started to spend five minutes shopping there because I want to know what I need so I get it and get out and not get harassed with with your employees…I put a pic up next time I come in I better not get harassed or I will never comeback. A couple thousand year or don’t follow me like a lost puppy who can’t find its own tail and thank you for your time

Sports Basement is probably the most dangerous store ever.

Every time I go in with a specific purchase in mind, I end up spazzing out and getting all the stuff and things.

The staff at every location I've been to is super friendly, and knowledgable, which makes spending $$$ there even easier.

I've legit had to ask the staff at my Santa Rosa store if I can put a picture of me up at the register, with a note saying "not allowed in without adult supervision".

Great service at the bike shop. They called after dropping off and recommended a service/tune up that was $200 cheaper than originally quoted and what I was more than willing to pay. Also allowed me to redeem a promotion from week prior (rent a bike for free*), allowing me to save even more. Definitely put it in the books for continual return visits.

Before entering this store, on my mind was just one item to buy and it was a bicycle tire glue. However, when entered the store and walked inside for awhile, i realized that there were actually many other merchandise items of great importance to me. I made a short list of the sport items i like and can afford. Usually, i do not buy anything on credit. Now that i know how much they cost, i can plan to buy them in the near future. And, of course, i found here what i was looking for. The tire glue is available, $4. In addition, the store employees are very social and helpful. Recomend to visit this store and you will discover some items you probably haven't seen in your life.
