We were going through "stuff" at our home and came across a box with a bunch of 8mm reels in it. We decided to go ahead and get them converted to digital files. And then we decided we might as well as add all of the Super 8 movies we took of our kids several years ago. Did some research on who to use for this service and narrowed it down to two "box and mail in services." But then decided to check locally. That is when I found a couple of local services that I could drive to and meet with to discuss process. I ended up at Sunray Video and was very happy with the results. Kirk was great to work with and offered very fair pricing. And of course, I just found a couple more Super 8 videos in the house and will be heading back for a couple of more digital files. By the way, he allowed me to purchase my own thumb drive, which saved me a few bucks. If you do this conversion, do not forget to make a back up.

I could not have been happier. Kirk really knows his business, and considering the amount of film I brought in, the price was fair. I've already researched the cost of trying to convert it at home, buying the ( home user level film conversion ) equipment, how long it would take to do it on your own, etc. No wonder I've put this off for years. Even if I did it that way, it wouldn't compare the higher quality equipment Kirk uses, nor would I have his lifetime of knowledge in the field, color-correction, etc.

If anyone's on the fence about getting your old film converted, just bring it here. You're never going to get around to it, and it takes an expert to fix the little issues that come up along the way. I'm watching some of the video now as I write this and I'm super impressed. All of this could have been lost if I did it myself or sent it to some mail-order place in another state, etc. I'm not going to invade my mother's privacy by posting a pic of the look on her face here, but you should see it. What a testimonial. Footage she hasn't seen since the 1950's. Unreal.

Sunray Video really did a great job for me. I had tons of 8 Millimeter Film that was getting really old and it was sound film also. I went with them because they could duplicate the sound for us. Which was really really important to me and my family.
