Extremely rude and unprofessional worker. We paid for and stayed two nights at this hostel, checked out of our room and were sitting on a couch downstairs while we waited for our ride later that day. Worker came down and with no prior warning or information told us we needed to leave immediately and were not welcome there. Then as we started to pack our things he continued to complain about us and watch over us while kicking us out. Never had this treatment at other hostels.

The owners are kind -- my trip was cancelled due to weather so I had to cancel a room the night before the day of the booking. This would normally cost me 120$ but they worked with me to cancel it with no fee.

I feel really bad because I had 2 rooms with 4 capacity each and cancelled kind of last minute, which means that they'd be losing the business of 8 beds 🥺 I'm sorry guys and thanks so much for being understanding! I'll definitely be back to stay for real

I stopped here for a shower on my way home from a camping trip, and the staff and guests alike were kind and friendly. The vibe here is welcoming and laid back. Nice $5 hot shower in a private bathroom!

What a gracious and unconventional host. They try to build a homely vibe above all and go above and beyond to help you feel comfortable. The host has opened up his house along with its myriad of collections of guitars, books, video cassettes(yes from the 90s) and a lot more.
I wish him all the very best and thank you for the comfortable stay.

Had a really great experience staying here. The kitchen is well equipped but not big, so can get busy at peak times. Everyone I met was interesting, never a dull conversation. I hope to return one day!

I wanted an affordable and clean place to stay for two nights in Bishop, so I can go get lost in the mountains and explore the majestic hiking nearby. I was beyond surprised by how beautifully arranged and accommodating this place is. There are lots of lovely areas to work, indoors and outdoors. Free coffee and tea. And if you like talking to fellow travellers, great opportunities to hang out with cool and open-minded people. There’s definitely an artsy and Bohemian vibe here- if you prefer polished and sterile, maybe there’s a Hilton nearby? I will definitely stay here again. Also, it’s within walking distance of great coffee shops, bars, a lovely indie bookstore and so much more. Shout out to Matt for being a lovely and welcoming facilitator. This is a cool place. Book it!

Super nice staff, really cheap, clean and whatnot. Hot showers were great, and it was so nice they let me take crash pads and a guide book to go climb. 10/10 would recommend to any solo climber to stay there.

Really nice backpacker hostel. The staff we met were nice, the facilities were in good shape, and the atmosphere is great. There's instruments, tons of board games, and VHS tapes that are free for guests to play. The hostel is in an old 19th Century house, and the private room that I stayed it made it feel almost like a bed-and-breakfast.

That said, this place isn't for everyone. As the name suggests, it's very 420 friendly, and there were plenty of people smoking outside when I stayed. The hostel caters to backpackers, right down to using Dr. Bonner soap in the showers. The atmosphere is very communal and fun, and while I enjoyed it, I can definitely see other people on a 395 road trip giving this place a pass.
