The guys at Tholen were extremely fast at getting to us when our furnace went out, they were kind, and lent us a heater to help keep us warm. When I paid them I had accidentally overpaid and they called me to tell me and returned the extra money I’d given them. Cannot say enough nice things about them !

AC compressor quit running late one day when it was 100° out. I called Tholen’s and left a message and Nancy called me back first thing in the morning the next day. I had a technician here by 10 o’clock and he had diagnosed it and fixed it within 10 minutes. Replaced the bad capacitor and also checked the gas levels. Very friendly but professional technician (Treyton). Highly recommend these guys!

When we bought our house, the seller told us we MUST use Tholen's. We followed his advice and could NOT be happier! They have kept me informed of warranty issues, maintenance schedules, tips on maximizing efficiencies, etc. Even when we moved 40+ miles away, they called me to let me know they would be in our area and we scheduled a service call for that day. Further, we have a dog, a cat and three kids who are always nosing around while the technicians are trying to do their job, but the technicians just patiently answer questions, pet the dog, shoo the cat out of the furnace room, etc. We even leave the house unlocked for them to enter, work, and leave with no concerns for our home and safety. I highly recommend Tholen's for all your HVAC needs.

In the past, when we called Tholen's, we received top-notch service and quality work, so naturally, when our AC needed work this summer, that's who we called. Unfortunately, the gentleman who arrived to repair our AC didn't seem very concerned with maintaining that standard. In the process of hosing off the outside unit, he disconnected/moved hoses that were running to my animals to keep them cool in the heat and did not turn them back on, put them back where they were, or even tell us he had messed with them. Instead of asking if we could move a shelf that was apparently in his way, he pushed it out of the way himself, in the process breaking the cover to a fan that vents the crawlspace and dumping most of what was on the shelf onto the floor. He also spilled something on the floor--we're still not sure what it was--and disconnected the pipe that runs from the drip pan in the furnace to the drain. On top of all of that, he demanded payment at time of service, which is fine, except that at no time did he communicate with us what his services were going to cost, or to ask us if we would be able to afford the work that needed to be done before springing a $500 bill on us... because, you know, most working families just have $500 sitting around.

We ended up having to call him BACK because after he did what I have to assume was $500 worth of work, the AC still wasn't working right, and when we told him about the shelf, the fan cover, the spilled liquid, and the hoses, he not only didn't apologize, but was full of excuses as for why it wasn't his doing. Long story short, he "fixed" the AC, disconnected the pipe leading to the drain (again) and did something--we're not sure what--that is causing water to collect in the bottom of the furnace... which is a very very bad place for water to be. Every couple of hours, we have to turn off the AC, open up the furnace, mop up the water that has collected, and close the furnace back up... To say that we're unhappy would be understating the point. $500 for nightmarish service, and we STILL have to call someone else out to fix whatever he broke.

We had several wonderful experiences with Tholen's before this, but this one experience has ensured I will never be doing business with them again.

I've been very pleased with all the work that has been done at my house. The technicians are friendly. If you want honest, quality work from someone who really cares about what they do, this is definitely the right company to call!
