The guys working here could be professional and do their CUSTOMER SERVICE job a lot better.

While I was being checked in the guy "helping" me made a joke about my reservation being at another location which gave me more anxiety and stress during a time where I am already dealing with an emergency move. I did not appreciate this type of behavior from an adult man that is there to assist customers, not trick them and stress them out.

While being checked in the men working the reception desks were making unpleasant comments about customers not coming in right away for their reservations. (Again they work in customer service! If you want to retain customers and book rentals then you call to check in, not make immature jokes and comments in front of the customers currently there).

Returning the rental was another headache as I arrived 5 minutes before closing to find that the employees block the driveways with their personal vehicles before closing. My brother was waiting for me and went to ask the employees if they could move their car so I could enter and drop of the van. Upon asking him they said they wouldn't move the car and continued to shut the doors BEFORE the 7 pm closing time.

They did not want to help at all in any way and were not communicating clearly in any way. I tried to express that I just didn't want to get charged a late fee or for another day because I was there before they closed. It was very difficult to hear them well through the door and I expressed it. Another guy came to the door, and I asked him if he could address me instead of my brother (because it was my reservation and card on file) he made a comment to my brother in a rude tone then this guy finally told me to "just leave the keys in the box".

The staff here are extremely immature and quite incompetent in customer service. The added stress makes me want to demand a refund. If 0 stars was an option I would have chosen that rating, I will definitely not be booking from this location or recommending it to anyone.

*The name of who helped me on my receipt is Victor G. but no one was wearing any name tags from what I saw.

*The cargo van looked dirty in front but looked much worse in the back, like they didn't properly clean out the dirt.

*The accessibility and lack of appropriate parking for this place is horrible.

*Staff here are clearly lazy and rude/immature.

The 15-foot truck is very old. It has neither a USB port nor a screen. The transmission is very jerky between 30 and 40 mph—it's quite horrible. The right side mirror also moves when you close the door, so you have to keep adjusting it manually, which is not as easy as it sounds. I also overfilled the gas tank by an extra quarter. U-Haul should credit customers if they overfill the tank. After all, by filling up the tank, I am essentially doing your staff a favor. U-Haul could at least reimburse its customers for the extra gas. Also, the lock when getting a key is so difficult to open. Overall, it's a horrible truck and a greedy company, but the staff is great.

Reserved a pickup days in advance. A showed up and it only had an eighth of a tank of gas at pickup. Ridiculous.

The day of the pick up day of my U-Haul was October 6 at 8pm. The route of the U-Haul was from Los Angeles to Berkeley which is about 454 miles. I had reserved it a week prior and called on October 5th to confirm the location to pick up the car. Since it was an after hour pick up and a person who had never use U-haul before. I have asked the operator if it was easy to pick up the car during after hour and they all said that it is easy. When I Uber to the location to pick up my car, the location did not station the car for me to pick up which I thought it was already ridiculous and I had to Uber to another location to pick up the truck. Already waster of my time, After I pick up the truck, I drove to my friend’s house to load all the boxes to the truck and the truck suddenly doesn’t close all the way for the back of the truck. Since it was already very late, we decided it was best for us to pick up another car first thing in the morning at 7am. We got to the U-Haul at 7am sharp, we again loaded all of the boxes from the shit truck to the new truck that we thought it was fine and I’m taking about 20 boxes to reload. Finally we could start to head on the road. We stop at McDonald to grab some food and when we try to start the truck, the truck could not start. We called roadside assistance and he took 2 hours to arrive which is a completely waste of our time because this was a business trip and we had to be in Berkeley the day of before 4pm. We had also ask multiple times if we need to change the battery and if we turn off the car, can we start again. His answer was no problem it will for sure start again if we drive it. We FINALLY get on the road at 10am. Stop for gas and the car doesn’t start again. We literally doesn’t have any time to waste at this point and luckily the person park next to us has a jumper cable and help us to start the car. After we finally got to north California which took us almost 10 hours, we park at our hotel parking lot and the next day doesn’t start again. Good things i had relatives here and my uncle was able to help us to start the car again. At this point we are all completely frustrated and was not going to waste any of our time waiting for some vendor that U-Haul calls for comes in and just jump start the car. We have wasted too much of our time for this business trip. We got a rental car and continue to use the truck until the 9th but had to jump start the truck each time it needs to start. THIS EXPERIENCE WAS ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE AND I WOULD NEVER USE UHUAL AGAIN AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE UHUAL. Please check your truck’s maintenance for the safety of your clients because it is very important and many of U-Haul clients needs to use the truck for long roads. It is very unsafe for many of us and I’m sure it is a recurring issue for the company.

Nothing. First the van that I rented smelled like a restroom. It smelled very bad. I told the lady when I returned the van and she just opened the van to air it out. Then the van was parked next to a pole that I backed into. I always pay for the insurance and had to pay a $150 deductible. I have rented from that location many times in the past. This was the worst experience ever.
I wish I could have had a better experience.

truck was loud and the steering was offf center a horrible driving experience. next time ill ask for a newer truck than gettting a older truck which drove horribly. the staff were great as always. just the truck needs to get checked and driven before handing off to a customer for a 1 hour or 2 hour drive.
