My friend requested for an ulu and where to go but to an ulu factory - they are all made in house! And what a great way to support Alaskan business! They are pricier than those from Walmart but they were made in China

Amazing to see equipment from 1000 BC. To see the equipment that has not changed from the original design

You get a chance to watch the people make the ulu in the actual factory.

Watch the wood being carved and watch the blades being crafted.

We had a chance to meet an native who's family is from a native tribe.

This is a much see

Very interesting store. You are able to watch the making of the wood handles on one end and the metal blades on the opposite end.

Good place to visit and get a souvenir. One can get custom engraving on the blade. The knife and the cutting bowl are pretty good for certain dishes. Prices are very decent as well.

Parking is plenty and staff is good except the person on the reception. Looked like he was not interested in job at all, not welcoming or making tour interesting.

The Ulu Factory is a cool store, but it is literally packed with merchandise and a lot of tours visit which means that it can get rather claustrophobic. But in the end its worth if you get a ulu which is a traditional rocking knife that is wicked sharp and chops herbs, cuts dried salami, cheese, etc like they are butter. Lots of ulu accessories although all you really need is an ulu and a leather sheath to prevent injury. Also some cool handles on some of the ulus. Take a look if you like cooking.

We stopped by as a tour bus group and even though 49 people rushed into the shoppe the staff were incredible. The service was friendly and informative. You can get a custom handle and laser engraving on blades. Since I was flying out they offered to ship the items I bought no problem.
As i write this I am back in Georgia and was just on the phone to order more and the service was still impressive.
Must stop here !!1

Very helpful and informational salespeople who provide demonstrations and tours of the factory stations. You can see the whole process of putting a knife together.

They also offer custom engraving on the blades and/or handles for a fee.
