I had an agreement with the owner to complete my bodywork in a specific time-frame. Not only was the car not finished on time, but it took many more months of "un-completion" before being instructed to remove the uncompleted car from his garage. Despite paying his invoices/bills on time, I discovered many items where the owner did incomplete, or shoddy work. 1st ... the owner cleared over un-removed rubbing compound, on the most prominent area of my car. 2nd ... the owner didn't remove obvious, thick, polishing compound from in-between the front fenders and nose, on both sides. the owner then painted right over the compound, and cleared that, as well. The body stripe was indicative of a bad taping and paint job, with gaps in the striping. 3rd ... There is a un-removed rust bubble, about 1" in diameter, and 1/8" tall, near the bottom of the driver's door, painted and cleared over. As I examined, the rust bubble, I begin to notice paint drips in the same area. 4th ... There are areas on the undercarriage, where there is no primer & no paint. 5th ... the interior was not sanded (properly), nor was any attention paid to areas where sanding or leveling should have taken place. The result was a sloppy paint job with lots of craters. 6th ... years later, and the reason why I was compelled to write this review ... I'm working in the trunk area, and look up under the rear speaker shelf, to find the entire area full of rust, and obviously, no attempt was made to correct the rust.
There is more, but you get my point.
The owner might reply that I should have returned the car for his review, but I maintain that he did an obviously, and intentionally shoddy job, and someone in my position would not trust the owner, ever again.
I've met another person who had a similar experience.
I payed big bucks for his work, and through his friendly smile, payed little attention, or respect to my project.
