The Vision Buddy was the best gift I ever gave my father. His macular degeneration was ruining his life. He was beside himself. At the age of 90, he starting using the Vision Buddy. One night he called me to tell me he had spent the evening on a safari! Watching TV is just like being there! He also was finally able to use the microwave - using the Vision Buddy to read the screen. He recently passed away (at 96). He asked that I find someone who could use his Vision Buddy, but was unable to afford it.
Also, I must add that ALL of the people we dealt with at Vision Buddy were stellar - kind, understanding of my Dad's learning curve and technically wonderful!

The Vision Buddy V2 is terrific! Very well thought out and designed to be very simple to use. My mom is 88 and with her macular degeneration we needed something to help her read the newspaper and watch TV. The Vision Buddy V2 does this exceptionally well. Unlike other products out there it Bluetooths the cable signal to the headset so that watching TV is like sitting in the front row of a movie theatre. Admittedly we are still in the learning phase with her getting comfortable using the buttons because she was never computer savvy - but, the Vision Buddy is definitely a well made tool for my mom's needs.
Hanna, the Vision Buddy representative, whom I've spoken to on multiple occasions is lovely. Very pleasant and helpful to deal with. She really genuinely cares about making sure you are satisfied with the Vision Buddy and all it can do for you.

We are purchasing the Vision Buddy for my 85 year old mother with AMD. With the Vision Buddy she is now able to read again and watch tv. It is relatively simple to use for an elderly person who does not have much experience or understanding of anything technical.
The entire team at Vision Buddy has been absolutely amazing. Because my mother lives in a retirement home with their own tv service, the team at Vision Buddy sent us a Roku to enable my mother to use the device to watch tv. The technical team was always available to help my brother set everything up for her. They were nothing but accommodating, extremely helpful & kind. Hannah - who is our main contact, well, she’s been awesome in every single way. Answering all of our questions (we’ve had ALOT!) in a timely, patient, professional manner. And finding ways to help us with any issues we have had.
I would definitely recommend the Vision Buddy for anyone struggling with low vision. It has enabled my mother to once again enjoy reading - her favourite pastime.

My wife has macular degeneration and was declared legally blind right after her 60th birthday. Obviously she has had a hard time dealing with blindness and was depressed most days. I came across the Vision Buddy doing research on the internet and decided to try it out on their risk free two week trial program. My wife was very impressed with the Vision Buddy. This system is amazing. God bless the hands which were involved in the production of a device like this. My wife has had macular degeneration for over 14 years, the last 10 of which she has not been able to watch TV without asking who was in the program and what was going on throughout the movie. She has not been able to read her books, which she has missed even more than TV. I have been searching for any devices that would give even the slightest relief for many years and finally found the Vision Buddy. From the first use of this amazing device Jeanne was able to read the smallest of printed words in her cards and letters recently received for her birthday and was able to see the entire screen of the TV. Her last eye exam showed her vision to be 20/600 in one eye and 20/125 in the other.

I can't explain how much the device means to us both, and believe that it is a sin that the medical professionals involved in the eye care field don't, at least make available a list of devices (even if they feel they can not endorse any one device) so their patients can do some research on their own. Our life would have been a great deal different if we had this device a few years earlier.

Vision Buddy Headset has made a big difference for me:
I’m a 98 year old M.D. (Pediatrician) and I’m lucky because my children say my memory is better than theirs! For 10 years now I have had significant vision impairment because of Macular Degeneration. I am diagnosed as print disabled and legally blind. I can’t distinguish people’s faces as my vision is too fuzzy, but I can move about in my small assisted living bedroom.
The Vision Buddy goggles have made a big difference for me. I have been using them for about a year now. I use them mainly for watching TV, especially shows I want to see details like Antique Roadshow, Nova, and 60 minutes. The goggles clarify the image for me and I can see much better detail. Before I had the goggles, I used to sit directly in front of my big screen TV but the goggles show a much clearer image. Vision Buddy lasts long enough for my TV shows – usually 1-2 hours.
I don’t use them for reading as I have gotten used to listening to books on tape. But I do use them occasionally in magnification mode if one of my children want to show me a photo in a magazine or on their phone. (My youngest son is typing up my dictation right now)
Before I got Vision Buddy, I had the Irisvision goggles. They were harder to use and quite a bit heavier even though image quality was good. The controls were much more complicated with Irisvision.
I think the Vision Buddy clarity is the same as IrisVision or maybe a bit better. They are also more comfortable and I like having fewer buttons and modes to remember each time I use them. VisionBuddy was easier to learn the controls as well.
Vision Buddy goggles have been quite successful for me and I will continue to use them.

My husband Tom got his Vision Buddy a few months ago. He finds it easy to operate with good vision and audio. He can enjoy watching TV again, especially sports. Vision Buddy has improved his quality of life.

Hi my name is Karen Edwards, I got my Vision Buddy in April of this year. I have AMD OR AGE RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION of my eyes. I presently can’t read or see many things properly due to holes in my retina. My vision Buddy allows me to read anything I have wanted to , like prescription bottles, my phone. And recipe books. It also comes with an amazing streaming device so that tv is streamed directly into my headset. The screen is so big I feel like I’m in first row of movie theatre, or actually at a church service, or concert, I feel like I could reach out and touch the people on stage.and it is so clear absolutely no distortion of thee picture.it’d also allows me to see people’s faces when we are across the family room from each other, talking. It is very light and comfortable to wear. All on all it is an amazing product, and the people who work there are pretty amazing too, customer support is important and I have received only the best from them. I would highly recommend the Vision Buddy to anyone with vision problems.!
