Went the first week of January to convert my UK DL to an Alabama one. I cant, as we drive on the left i needed to sit a theory and road test again. No problem. Did the paperwork, paid. The lady explained that it gets very busy (there wasn't a vacant seat that day...and she was by herself!) and to get an earlier road test, arrive no later than 830am. Went back yesterday, the 14th Jan 25, for 8am. Got booked into my practical at 930am. Again, the same lady was alone, and it was sooooo busy.
She came out, I passed my test- thank you 😊
I must say, I know there's a lot of negative comments, but I've always seen her alone, and I truly think sometimes we could be more forgiving. There's a system. Put your name down. You will be seen in order. It's simple. But if she's by herself, just think how you'd feel in her situation. I know it's not your fault she's by herself, but it sure ain't hers either. ❤️

My son and I attended our first auction today on the steps of the County Courthouse. Great experience! Beautiful location in the historic downtown Jasper with plenty of historical markers and statutes!

The clerks don’t answer the phone 80% of the time. The district attorney will never call you or you lawyer back. Overall, Walker County (Jasper) is the worst experience I have ever had with and court room.

Moved here from California so I was trying to transfer my license to an Alabama one. The heavy set white lady was rude and discriminated me just because I was from California and tried to say my birth certificate was not the original when it was and it was also embossed. FYI, I’ve gotten married and a passport with the same birth certificate. She didn’t care, denied me, shoved me out of the room. Went to the dmv in Birmingham the next day and got my license with no issue. Very sad there are people like this in this world.

UPDATE- They are really nice, so changed to 5 stars.
UPDATE- The entire building takes lunch from 12-1. They don't have a recording to tell when they are closed. IMO make sure you talk to someone before you waste your time.
And it would prevent alot of frustration on people's part if you just had a recording saying your lunch time and when you are closed for a non-national holiday.

They're lucky they get a one-star.. no one ever picks up don't know when the trash service is working or not they don't pick up what poor management
