This place is a joke. Better to drive to Modesto or Merced to buy material. I went by yesterday at 2:55 and they were closed, the website says they close at 4:00. Went back today at 11:45 and they were closed for lunch. I knocked on the door and the guy behind the counter just shrugged his shoulders. This is just the latest example. This has happened to me numerous times over the past couple of years. I will never go there again.

Great place to buy steel. They are friendly and have helped out a lot. I'm just doing small projects and don't usually go in for a lot of steel. They always find ways to help me save money so I don't have to buy more than I need

When walked in, it was nice and welcoming and price seemed fair, i ordered a 20ft piece of angle iron and a 3/8 plate 26x32 and was happy with the outcome until another day went by and another, lots of waiting and still till this day haven't received any material for project when prior ive called recently and had been told material was there at delivered chosen, it was never found.

I certainly hope that my experience with this company is unique and out of the norm, but I've tried 3 times now to order 20-foot sticks of square tubing and have been told each time that they don't have the size I'm looking for in stock. That normally wouldn't be a big deal, but each time I've tried, they've told me that they were putting it on order and it should arrive within 7-10 business days. I left all of my contact info and was told they would call back with an updated price each time, and never received any calls. Each time I called, I was told that the material was never ordered, and they would put it on order and call back with an update.

It's now been over 3 weeks since my original order (that they have no record of, but I've placed 3 times) and their claim is that they still haven't ordered the product I requested.

I politely voiced my displeasure over the phone during this last attempt, and the gentleman on the other end was very understanding. He even offered me his boss's direct number to try to get it straightened out. I told him that wasn't necessary - sometimes people just have to voice their displeasure a little bit and get it out of their system.

Was this experience a bad one? Yes. Has it killed any chance of me doing business with them? Probably not, I'll just make sure I go in person to place any orders on material that isn't in stock.

Last time I was in the guy was rude. They aren’t friendly to people that aren’t buying a lot of steel. And just recently price for 2 by 2 square tubing 1/8 thick 20 ft long was $185. While Modesto steel charges $97 for the 24 footer same thickness and dimensions. Absolutely insane.

Female receptionists are friendly. the two males that worked the office today (6/11) have very poor customer service skills, they will not look at you when talking to them making you feel like they have no respect or value of their customers. one was also rude over the phone. they have lost our respect and business.

Save yourself the time, during covid you cannot just show up. They are closed from 12-1, you cannot do same day pick up. Have to give them a 4 hour window or pick up the next day. Not convenient if you are in a crunch and need to get the job done. CALL AHEAD!!! I wish it was posted somewhere (your welcome) so I didn’t waste my time trying to finish the job.
