We contracted with Wettemann Brothers Concrete to build a concrete foundation and slab for a 28' x 48' Country Carpenters barn. Since the barn timber framing all comes pre-cut, foundation dimensions and column pier locations are required to be exact, and that is what Wettemann Brothers provided - thank you Artie for your careful layout work. Ed Wettemann and his crew were a pleasure to work with and provided great care, were on time and showed professionalism with their work. A detailed fee proposal was provided by Zach Wettemann at the outset after inspecting the site and final invoices matched the initial proposal. The Country Carpenters crew specifically commented on how accurately the foundation matched the architectural drawing dimensions so all framing fit on the mark. We would very much recommend Wettemann Brothers Concrete for anyone considering foundation and slab construction.

I contracted with Wettemann brothers for the concrete work on a 28 x 42 garage. Built on the side of a hill, the structural engineer recommended a rebar mat in the back wall tied into an oversized footing. Chris went above and beyond the call with a neat, meticulous and over-built foundation. Incidentally, the framing crew said that the foundation was perfectly square. As for the slab and sidewalk, Ed is a perfectionist as well and spent a lot of time making sure that everything was flat and smooth. Their nephew, Zach, does the pre-planning and estimating for each job. He is easy to work with and spells out what options are available; making recommendations to achieve the best possible results. I would highly recommend Wettemann brothers to anyone for their reliability and experience at a reasonable cost.
Note: The site work (excavation, backfill, grading) on this project was done by Stevens Excavating of Centerbrook, CT. They do excellent work as well and I would definitely use them in the future.

Called Wettemann brothers to install a floor in my 42x48 barn. They were fantastic. The company building the barn delayed construction by 4 months. Wettemann brothers were able to accommodate us with the ever changing schedule. They did a fantastic Job floor looks great and is level. I couldn’t be happier.

The team at Wettemann truly 'get it'. They are personable, professional, and are willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right. We had several delays, but they were able to accommodate our schedule. They do their best to minimize damage or a mess around the property and even took extra steps to ensure the concrete truck didn't ruin our grass while cleaning their chute. I wish I could build another structure to work with them again!

Without hesitation I can recommend Wettemann Brothers Concrete. Often a low bar for some contractors, their communication was excellent. Indicating when they were coming to the job was really appreciated especially as schedules and weather are always subject to change. Even more important was the quality of their work, which is second to none. With concrete you want to get it right the first time and done correctly will make framing and finishing better. My lasting impression is my 1600 square foot garage floor that is absolutely beautiful. Every day that I sweep or work in the garage I’m reminded of the outstanding job done by Wettemann Brothers Concrete.

I had a section of foundation replaced, a garage floor section replaced, a new retaining wall and a foundation made for an addition. From the initial estimate to the end of the job, there were many challenges but Wettemann Bros. was with me all the way, keeping things on track and on time, and adapting to scheduling delays outside their control. The work was of high quality and exceeded my expectations. All of the people I dealt with were pleasant, professional and most of all they were helpful as we navigated through this job. Ed did our garage floor as well as our basement and we are thrilled with both. The basement was a tricky job and he went above and beyond to make it come out beautifully. Ed was a great communicator about the timeline and process, which made the project super easy for us. And he and his crew were a pleasure to have around for the couple days that they were here - professional but also friendly. The estimate was also less than a second estimate we got.
