I held my wedding at Wilmington in August of this year. We opted for their two day package and also used the catering services for a full custom meal & cake/cupcakes. From beginning to end, Joan (owner) was fantastic. Her responses were quick & always helpful. She was more than willing to work with me on any of my “asks” to ensure the day turned out just as I’d pictured. The venue itself it’s gorgeous, and well taken care of. They have some decorations/lights etc. already up, so we really didn’t need to do much on the decorating front to make it what I’d pictured and that made things so much easier! The catered food was very good, as well as the cupcakes. I have no complaints. Joan and her husband helped make our day very special.

Initially, when planning my wedding I was unaware of Wilmington and had another venue booked. That venue was canceled 3 months before my wedding. I quickly redid my research and found Wilmington. She was very understanding of my circumstances and very clear of all of her rules, regulations, and practices for her venue. It was a very pretty venue that had many places for photos, bathrooms, places to get ready (for boys and girls), and plenty of parking. She also worked with our outside caterer (Big J's BBQ Catering) to make catering work! Many of my other vendors had worked with Joan previously so it made setting up easy. On my wedding day, it absolutely poured and was quite cold (50s-60s F). I didn't notice in the morning when I was running around and warm. The only thing I recommend is if it is raining and cold on your wedding day, get the heaters for the tent set up as early as possible since it was very cold we called her around 3 to get heaters brought down and they were set up around 5 and the space was warm around 6. Besides this, the tent was beautiful it was very dry and we provided umbrellas for our guests to walk to the bathrooms. It was a beautiful venue and we had a wonderful day!

Beautiful location! Joan and her team do a fantastic job hosting the most amazing amenities. Not only are both the bride and groom suites gorgeous but the surrounding flora and ceremony space is outstanding! Their full size canopy tent is romantic and can fit the reception as well as a dance floor, and their catering options are incredable. I look forward to photographing weddings at Wilmington's Wedding Venue every year!

Joan at Wilmington Weddings and Catering is fantastic! The items she created for the Arctic Winter Games in Palmer, AK were all hits with the attendees. Cheesecake pops, mint macarons, sausage stuffed mushrooms, grilled cheese focaccia bread and brownie bites.
I would highly recommend Wilmington Weddings and Catering for anyone interested in high quality and delicious food at very reasonable prices. Joan can help you plan whatever you need and is a pleasure to work with. 5 stars for sure! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If I could give more stars I would. The venue is absolutely stunning, but more importantly Joan and John are truly a rare find. They love what they do and it really shows in how they treat you, the place that they own, and their business. We were met with nothing but kindness and professionalism. The owners are extremely personable and genuinely want to help you. So If you're considering booking this place for your event this is your sign to do it now.

The services we used from Wilmington were the 2-day rental of the venue ( to give us the time to decorate the day before), catering for our rehearsal dinner, catering for our entire wedding,  the creation of our cake/dessert, and we rented on-site glamping tents for 2 nights for the groomsmen.

We hosted a 210 guest wedding and still had space for a dance floor. People had tons of room to move around. But the venue is also nice and slightly spread out with flowers, a fire pit, pond, and cute cabins so the guests will have lots of things to see and do. The venue had connect 4 and we brought a corn hole set for cocktail hour.

Having everything in one location really reduced stress. The food was amazing, and my cake was just so beautiful I was sad cutting into it. Joan also had a recommended bartender we hired and she was wonderful. The venue provided hand-made wooden tables, reception tent chairs and ceremony chairs, and the reception tent itself is a bride's dream come true. It has a tall canvas ceiling that filters light so it was so romantic inside even on a hot sunny day.

I could write an essay of what an amazing experience we had.  But in short, this place was such a blessing to us. it's beautiful but also the people who run it make all the difference. I really encourage you to consider the people you're working with for your big day because we genuinely felt like everyone at Wilmington wanted us to have a beautiful experience.  It was an honor and pleasure to get married here. You should get married here too.

Phenomenal! A pleasure to work with. The food was arranged beautifully and tasted delicious. You often hear you can have either quality or quantity, but Wilmington is a rare gem that offers both. The amount of food for our grazing board spread was so much that we were encouraging guests to pack a to-go box and we still had extras. Did I mention the food was delicious? Cannot recommend them enough!

Wilmington Wedding Venue went above and beyond for my sister's wedding on August 20th, 2022. The venue is gorgeous and has a lovely space for a ceremony as well as a great area for the reception. The hosts made us feel so incredibly welcome. They made it clear that they were there to help my sister and her fiance have a wonderful and stress free day. I can't say enough about how great this experience was for everyone involved. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to get married in a beautiful Alaskan setting!

Wilmington Wedding Venue was absolutely gorgeous! My now husband and I panicked in the begging of last winter when our previous venue cancelled on use due to shutting down. When on the look for a new venue, we came across this one, not too many pictures and it was looking like it was possibly a new venue. When we scheduled a phone chat with Joan she was so nice! She was willing to work with our "weekend" wedding plans and the possibility of brining my horses out with me, and she had no problems with it! She encouraged us to come out and look at the venue even though the ground was frozen and once again in late may. (Our wedding was on 6/24/23). When we showed up the day before our wedding with our friends and family (and multiple campers) the venue was absolutely amazing looking, Joan and her husband had put so much work into making it a magical place! It was truly a different place than the first one we had seen with frozen ground. Beautiful flowers blooming everywhere, fountains, fun games to play, a HUGE tent for the reception and of course a beautiful building for the bribe to get ready in and a fun building with a porch for the groom to get ready in. Joan was the absolute best and made planning and communication so easy and stress free. Her goal was to have a "stress free' bride and she defiantly made that happen! Not only did she go above and beyond with her gorgeous venue, but she also catered our food for 130 people and made the most beautiful cake I've ever seen and tasted! I got so many compliments from guests about the gorgeous venue that they didn't know existed! and how well the food tasted. I definitely recommend this wedding venue and will tell all the upcoming brides and grooms to be about it! Thank you, Joan, for everything!
