I bought my house back in 2020 and with it came the job that Woods Basement System already did in the house. They put in a drain system along the edge of my storage area. We didn’t notice problems until a large rain that happened in 2021 that cause a ton of mud ad rock to flood into the storage area clogging the dual pump and leave standing water.
I honestly had no clue what to do and just cleaned it out myself hoping for the best. It wasn’t until late Sept of 22 that I finally had Woods come out. The guy that came out never mentioned to me that the work they did was still under warranty and instead insisted that there is voided space under my house that was causing mud to shoot into the house. Who was I to question him, so I said OK, and we went ahead with foam injections under that area of the house to fill any voids. This work cost me a few grand to do and while I don’t doubt that the injections helped possibly a little, it wasn’t much later that another big storm hit and we are seeing the same thing happen. At this point I even had suspicions that maybe my foundation is totally compromised with the amount of rock and water coming in.
Unfortunately, life got in the way delayed me calling again as I didn’t want to get suckered into another multi thousand-dollar investment. It wasn't until late July of 2024 that again we had several bad storms that finally I was fed up and called their main number. Talked with the guy and even requested the original contract of their work and sent them several images through email. They sent Michael Davies, and I showed him some videos and images of what’s been happening. Also pointed out a large sink hole that was likely due to the mud and rock that had been pouring into my storage area. Not to mention the pump pipes to the outside had slipped off the piping and was not draining properly. After 2 weeks of not hearing from Mike, I ended up reaching out to an upper manager to get something. By then we had a massive storm though that I am sure put scheduling back even further and the soonest their scheduling could get me in was 2 months away.
Now we get to today, where finally I have a crew onsite. Now Juan Hernandez and his team were great! They were very courteous and clean, did a good job of communicating what’s happening and why it was happening. Come to find out that when they dug out the drain from inside of my house, along the side of my house where the mud was shooting in… there was a massive hole in my foundation. So now because of the original work that was done on my house all these issues could have been avoided if those initial onsite crew had dug a little out to see there was a large cavity next to their system. Either they caused the gigantic hole in my foundation, or it was there previously, and the idiots never filled the hole with concrete. Which the good team of Juan’s did for me. They also repaired the piping that is on the side of my house. Again, this team was friendly and great, I have got zero problems with them. It’s the rest of Woods Basement team that really fell flat.
So now to wait for the next big storm to see if we still have issues. The experience I had with Woods is not great and just leave me with a bad feeling of ever using them again.
