I never write reviews, but Yale Film and Video deserves as much praise as possible.
The whole team has been so incredibly helpful and has made the process of shooting/developing/digitizing film so much less daunting for a newcomer like me. They give suggestions, advice, and tips for whatever you may need help with - and are incredibly timely and friendly at that. They're communicative and go far beyond expectations in order to help, and their finished products are stunningly high-quality and they have quick turnarounds. It is crystal clear that they are passionate about keeping filmmaking alive and it is evident that they want to help anyone - new or seasoned - experience the joy that comes with it. I would give them a hundred stars if I could!

If you need your vintage Super 8mm transferred and handled professionally, without the flakiness, weird behavior or rude treatment you get down in Burbank, then send it to Yale. I had Yale do a $2.5k dollar transfer. I knew it would turn out stunningly and it did.

So skip the standoff-ish treatment and unfulfilled promises others in the area are known for. Professional, courteous, and kind, these good folks have been doing business for film makers like myself for decades, and very DEPENDABLY so.

I’ve taken Super 8 film here a few times in the past couple years. The guys are always so helpful and pleasant, and take the time to teach me about film. I actually enjoy coming out here from Ventura. I’ve even called and one of them talked me through fixing my film projector over the phone- mind you they don’t know me, I was just a random caller! They clearly know what they’re doing and are enthusiastic about it. Quality and clarity are their strong points. Will be back!
